WWE Undisputed World Champion Cody Rhodes, famously known as 'The American Nightmare' was subjected to a brutal post-match assault by Kevin Owens during Saturday Night's Main Event.

The attack occurred moments after Rhodes successfully defended his championship in front of an electrified crowd.

While celebrating his victory, Rhodes was blindsided by Owens, who delivered a vicious banned Pile Driver that left the champion incapacitated.

The violent maneuver, which has been outlawed by WWE, added to the severity of the situation.

The incident took place after the live broadcast had ended, plunging the arena into chaos.

Medical personnel were quick to respond, rushing Rhodes out of the venue on a stretcher. He was later transported by ambulance to a local hospital for further medical evaluation.

WWE has yet to release an official statement regarding the extent of Cody Rhodes' injuries.

However, backstage tensions reached a boiling point as WWE executives, including Triple H and Nick Aldis, openly expressed their outrage.

WWE CCO (Chief Content Officer) Triple H confronted Owens in a fiery argument that nearly escalated into a physical altercation, with both men shoving each other.

This marks the second time Kevin Owens has executed the banned Pile Driver move. His previous use of the maneuver left Randy Orton sidelined indefinitely.

WWE insiders suggest that Owens could face a suspension or harsher penalties for his actions.

The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens has been simmering for months.

It all began at Bad Blood when Rhodes aligned with Roman Reigns and the OTC faction, severing his ties with Owens.
